The parental construct, sFRP -118, is the smallest enhancer of Ci-sFRP1/5 driving expression in all a-line from the 64-cell stage. The construct contains a mutated version of the -118bp fragment, in which the two distal-most fox sites are point mutated. The activity of the construct is much reduced throughout the a-line ectoderm, with only activity in the a-line neural cells, and increased in the neural b-line. a-line and b-line expressions are MEK dependent.
