this construct (amEts-pfog-290 construct in the paper) contains the entire Ci-fog cis regulatory region from -290bp to the ATG. The otx neural a-element was inserted upstream of pfog. Electroporation of this construct led to strong expression in neural precursors and weak sporadic expression in uninduced animal cells. The nucleotide +1 taken in reference corresponds to the ATG.
