this construct (a-pfog-290 construct in the paper) contains the entire Ci-fog cis regulatory region from -290bp to the ATG. The otx neural a-element was inserted upstream of pfog with point mutation in the two Ets sites. Electroporation of this construct led to a strong animal-wide expression. The nucleotide +1 taken in reference corresponds to the ATG.
