this construct contains the -227 kb to the +238 bp of the 5 flanking Ci-msxb enhancer sequence with an internal deletion between -84 bp to +130 bp. Expression is observed in the precursor of otolith and ocellus, in the neural tube, and ectopically in mesoderm cells. Expression is lost in the ventral epidermis.
